Why on earth would I want to ruin my wedding dress?
Hi, my name is Elton Mogg and I'm an award winning wedding photojournalist who works throughout the UK and abroad. My aim is to capture and create the most beautiful natural pictures, telling a story through the series of special moments that make up the perfect wedding celebration. My regular posts will give an insight into current trends as well as giving advice on all the elements that help make great wedding photography.
The Trash the Dress product name sounds a little scary. My English sensibilities would prefer it to call it something like A Final Wear. Either way, the premise is simple, your wedding day is now just a wonderful memory, your flowers are pressed, the cake is stored in the freezer and the box is readied for your once in a lifetime dress. But wait. What if you could wear that dress just once more and create some amazing pictures that just were not practical or possible at the wedding.
Trash the Dress sessions offer that last chance to wear the dress you spent months, even years finding. Your photographer will usually have some pretty good ideas of ways to create those amazing portraits you so often see in the advertisements but it is up to you in the end as to how far you are willing to push your dress to create that unique image. A Trash the Dress session doesn’t have to signal the end of your dress’s life it could just end up getting a bit muddy or even wet. The limits to the sessions are just imagination and your attitude.
If you are a believer in tradition and that your dress should only ever be worn once then Trash the Dress shoots are definitely not for you. However, if you enjoy being photographed and want some more fun in the dress of your dreams, then you should seriously consider what a Trash the dress session can give you.
Imagine walking through an English country woodland and lying down amongst the flowers or taking a stroll along a deserted beach front and ending up dancing in the waves. Maybe you’d prefer a more industrial background with old buildings crumbling around the edges surrounding you. Think along these lines and that’s what Trash the Dress is all about.
There are lots of other reasons why you might like to book a session, maybe your pictures were not what you hoped or you liked your pictures so much that you wish you had had more time with your photographer to create even more, maybe you want to experience that feeling of glamour one last time and in the process recoup some of the emotional investment made in your dress.
Whatever the reason, the idea of boxing up a dress and finding a home for it in the loft can be outweighed by the thought of having a unique fashion style picture of you and your dress on your wall downstairs. Trash the Dress sessions are here and it’s up to you whether the final wear opportunity is just too good to resist.

Love It!
I definetly think this is a great service! Since getting married last September, i have been looking for any excuse to get my wedding dress out of storage and put it on. Why restrict to just wearing a dress that makes you feel like a princess for just one day?
