Here at PW we've been super-busy getting our new website up and running and if you're getting married this summer, you'll no doubt have been busy too!

I remember the excitement I felt in the run-up to my big day, and the nerves. I was terrified of walking down the aisle and all eyes being on me. But as soon as I woke up on the day, I was so happy and excited that I just didn't care. I was on Cloud 9, and walking through the church doors and seeing all my friends and family smiling at me was the most amazing feeling in the world — I had goose bumps! One tip I'd give to brides-to-be like me is to ask one of your bridesmaids or ushers to carry a bottle of water for you. If you get a dry mouth due to nerves, you'll find it hard to smile for all those photos after the ceremony! In fact, keep a basket of water bottles at the entrance to the church if it's a hot day as elderly guests may need a drink too. It may sound silly but I went to a very hot August wedding once and the ushers were sweating and the grannies were almost passing out!

As your day draws closer, don't panic — everything will fall into place and you'll have the best day of your life. If you're really stressed out, delegate. You may think that you're the only one who can do things 'properly', but there's no point giving yourself a coronary. You're the bride… sit back and relax.

Don't forget to send us all your wedding stories and pictures, we love hearing from you.

Dont Be a Controlling Bride

I got married last September and in the run up to our big day i found it hard to delegate. I wanted everything to be perfect and wanted to do everything myself, it wasnt that i did not trust my bridesmaids and friends to help me its just i wanted to hold on to every second of planning my wedding and i became a little obsessed with it all!

I dont regret this at all, but on the day of the wedding there is no more you can do, you need to just go with the flow, hand over all responsibilites to bridesmaids, users, etc and enjoy the day with your new husband.

Its important to remember that everyone who is at your wedding wants you to have the most magical day and if anything is going to go wrong, you will be the last to know! I found out the day after my wedding there were a few glitches, but to my husband and i everything was perfect! What goes on behind-the-scenes on your day is someone else's stress, not yours!
